Harrison was struck with polio at the age 9 and has needed crutches ever since but did not apply for disability benefits well into adulthood because he said he never bought into the fact that he was disabled. “My mother always said, ‘You ain’t cripple until your mind is cripple.’ I would have to say that cocaine was a great influence on crippling my mind."Harrison now holds a masters degree in criminal justice.
